Recently, FPT Corporation has successfully implemented several blockchain-based Loyalty Management systems for a leading airliner in Asia.
Thanks to this system, members of the airline can use bonus miles to buy goods at Point of Sale points and every transaction will be stored on the blockchain.
The Loyalty Management System is one of the first blockchain project entirely provided by FPT throughout the Product’s Full Life Circle, from solution architecture to implementation process. Additionally, FPT also provided advice regarding user behaviors to align it with product sales. The success of the project is considered a huge push in promoting FPT’s comprehensive digital transformation consultancy service.
After building and developing POC to test the feasibility of the project, for the first time an airline company collaborated with FPT to co-implement a customer loyalty program and e-wallet based on blockchain technology. Unlike traditional outsourcing services, this is a project that FPT directly participated in providing consulting, along with one of the global Consulting Big Four which are PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and KPMG.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, one of the project’s solution architects said: “The Loyalty Management System application was built on the Ethereum platform, allowing users to convert accumulated membership points into tokens in an e-wallet. The encrypted token in the e-wallet proves the user’s ownership of their own points. The system also provide options for users to exchange tokens into products and services of the airline’s partners, from simply a mug to airline tickets…
With the application of blockchain, this digital wallet application allows companies to quickly supplement and easily maintain customer care programs. At the same time, the system also helps minimize Loyalty Liability (the company’s final cost to redeem all loyalty points). Furthermore, by using the PoA (Proof of Authority) algorithm for Ethreum, the whole process is almost in real-time; providing a safer, more secure environment.
The success of the project has affirmed FPT’s capacity in consulting and implementing customer care solutions in the aviation industry. After this project, many new opportunities have opened up for FPT in developing Loyalty Management systems for businesses both domestically and internationally.
